Studies on the Distribution of Reservoirs of Enteric Infections in the Chung Chong Nam Do Province

Abstract
|
|
|
In spite of dedicating intensive effort to control the enteric infectious diseases, a number of typhoid fever have been prevailed in the province for many years.
The authors have made bacteriologically and serrologically investigation to find out the distribution of typhoid carriers and of apparent cases in the province from January to December of 1972.
The obtained results are summerized as follows;
1. Among the 15492 specimens, 222 of Salmonella groups and 3 strains of shigella group were isolated.
2. Among the 222 strains of salmonella, isolated 207 of S. typhi, 2 of S.typhimurium, 11 of S.enter?tidis and 2 strains of S.berta were identified.
3. Among Salmonella typhi isolated;61. strains from clinical cases, 13 from experienced cases (19691971), 117 form the contacts or families, with the patients 16 from normal food handlers.
